I have made several of these quilts and just love doing each and every one of them. Each one is different and I love working with the family deciding on exactly what they want. It is a custom to gather 100 pieces of fabric from friends, relatives, etc. and make a quilt for the new one. I loved making this one. They picked out the pattern and collected the fabric and I did the rest.
My prices of course will vary depending on the size and pattern of the quilt.
This one is 52" x 52" and machine appliqued.
Prices will be determined by design, size, etc. The cost for this one is 125.00 labor, plus materials.
Here's a detail of the back of this quilt:
Baby Heirloom Quilt
Here is a quilt that was made for a newborn baby. The sister of the mother-to-be, collected fabric, clothing, etc. from family members from all over.
She wanted a sail-boat theme, with the names of all four family's embroidered on the four sides. The sail-boats are made using the collected clothing.
I kept in constant contact with her and this is what was made. I think it is so cute, and now the little boy will have all his family around him always.
It measures 42" x 58".
I machine quilted a sea wave and a sailboat on each corner. It has a flannel backing.
